Victoria Holt is a feminist activist and academic living and working in Hove.
I am an interdisciplinary social sciences scholar having held positions at University of Brighton, University of Roehampton and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. My PhD, which I was awarded in 2024, was titled ‘“It’s Still A Type of Violence”: sex workers’ experiences of domestic and familial abuse’.
More broadly, my research focuses on sex work, prison abolition, gender based violence and feminist methodologies. I have been active in the fight to decriminalise sex work for over a decade, and have previously worked in front-line domestic abuse, sexual violence and sex work outreach services. My writing has been featured in a number of academic and mainstream publications including The Lancet, Novara Media and The Quietus.
